For today’s post I thought it would be a good idea to explain the name of my blog – About life and lemons – a bit more. I always had the feeling it was pretty clear until I had to explain the saying to my colleagues a few weeks ago because none of them knew what it meant.
And since it was completely new to them, I might be to you as well!
So About life and lemons comes from the saying “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”. Meaning: Add some sugar to the sour and bitter things in life to turn them into something sweet and positive.
To me, the things I write about on my blog and Insta page are the sweet things in life, the sugar that is added to my day to day activities.
Sometimes you see people using the When life gives you lemons saying – followed by – put them under your shirt and pretend you have boobies. Which basically means the same thing, it just depends on how you look at it I guess ;).
That was it really… sometimes it’s just that simple!
Oh, and I love the color yellow. That might also have something to do with the positive vibe I get from lemons ♡.
Since fashion is some serious sugar in my life, I’ve also got a new look to show you today. I really like this one, so I hope you do too!
Here we go!
Lately you often see the casual chic sweatpants appearing in magazines, on websites and on Instagram pages. I fell in love instantly – because COMFORT times 10! – and decided I needed one in my life.
Scrolling through the collections on Zalando I saw this pants by Bik Bok. A brand unknown to me but the red pants immediately stood out.
When it first arrived in the mail I was quite unsure what it would look like while unboxing. But as soon as I put it on it felt pretty good. After some minor alterations by la mama I was good to go!
I am still thinking about closing up the pockets though, because while looking at the pics the visible inside of the pocket does bother me a bit.
On a recent – but limited – Primark haul I scored this top and necklace. And I love both so much! The necklace has a nice and easy bohemian feel to it. Combined with this pants and top I really feel quite modern day gipsy like. A bit like Esmeralda in the Hunchback of Notre Dame you could say, n’est-ce pas?
Unlike some other purchases I’ve made, I am convinced these items will make it out of my closet quite a few times this summer. Because even on days we don’t reach + 26 degrees Celcius, it’s a super wearable, comfy summer outfit!
Et voila, that was it for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed it!
Tell me, are you in love with that boho state of mind as well?
With some bohemian chic touches you just can’t go wrong this summer!
